We have served as the prime contractor for over $100M of task order awards, and today have more than 100 staff in 18 states providing services and solutions across the globe. Nick McCarter is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chartis Federal, a nationally recognized systems engineering and integration company delivering mission-critical solutions for homeland security, public safety, defense, and federal civilian agencies. Since founding the company in 2008, he has led its evolution from a small entrepreneurial venture into a trusted federal partner supporting some of the nation's most complex operational challenges through engineering, communications, autonomous systems, and digital transformation.
Known for pairing strategic vision with disciplined execution, Nick McCarter has built a culture defined by innovation, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to mission success. Under his leadership, Chartis Federal has earned national recognition for sustained growth, workplace excellence, and technical innovation while expanding its impact across the federal landscape. In 2026, he was recognized as an Entrepreneur Of The Year® Mid-Atlantic finalist, honoring leaders who build enduring companies and create lasting economic and community impact.
A graduate of James Madison University, Nick McCarter believes that great organizations are built by investing in exceptional people and empowering them to solve meaningful challenges.
